With the 6th Yu-Gi-Oh! series now ongoing to who-knows when, we say good-bye to Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. If you've seen my previous post "Make Way Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal for Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V!" of 4/19/14 I've only seen like 3 episodes at least so I can't really review the anime. But it came to my surprise that Yūya Sakaki (spoiler alert?) has 3 other dimensional counterparts: Yuri from Fusion Dimension, Yugo from Synchro Dimension, and Yuto from Xyz Dimension.
Not only that but his "love interest" or heroine of Arc-V match him too, as shown below:
Interestingly enough, Yuya gets 3 other main monsters to play with. (Also, see the following.)
[More on the small details in a future post to dedicate to YGO Arc-V.]
So it's no wonder that YGO decided to showcase our newest protagonist in a similar fashion.
Introducing Yūsaku Fujiki, high school student "cyber hacker in a good way" by day, a.k.a. Playmaker, vigilante duelist by "virtual-reality night" in LINK VRAINS. That is to say, this cyberspace network system named Den City consisting the "World of AI: Cyverse" as it would be called, is where all the duels takes place I assume. Duels between our hero against SOL Technology Company and the Hanoi Knights or "bad hackers" will result in eventual VR destruction that must be stopped at all costs. And in order to do that, Yusaku will have to "link summon" on advanced hover(storm)-boarding technology making his way to gradually reveal his unbeknownst past and true objectives. As if I didn't have you at the edge of your seat by now, to top that off he will obviously be bringing his future friends-to-be along and prove himself worthy to take the reigns of main character.
That's basically what I got from the hour premiere of the anime and I'm afraid I am not going to pick up this show myself. The premise is more appealed towards the newer generation of YGO fans or first-time viewers at least in my opinion. And speaking for myself, I don't find it that much difference in transition from the last installment. Yet I do have better hopes for the latest cards of Yu-Gi-Oh and what link summoning would be like. Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out synchro and XYZ summoning (both nearly getting the hang of it for the most part) with the added pendulum summoning and now link summoning. Anyways, for those who plan on or are already watching YGO VRAINS, I wish for you all to enjoy it and I'll be back here blogging from time to time.
